Why Do People Love Dogs So Much?
Are you like me, drawn to want to pet, hold, and cuddle dogs when you see them? I am. Of course that will depend upon the willingness of the dog to allow you to do that. Why do we love dogs so much?
Dogs seem to provoke in humans responses that are similar in human relationships, particularly that between parent and a child. And why not? They have adapted themselves into our social system and show a range of emotions, such as love, curiosity and anxiety. Thus we assume dogs are able to exhibit the full spectrum of human emotions.
They will jump with joy when we come home, lay their heads on our knees and look lovingly into our eyes. What’s not to like about that? Over time dogs adapted to become our buddies with the appealing characteristic of not being able to speak. Therefore I am free to share all of my thoughts and emotions with my dog buddy, without judgement and still be accepted. Of course, food and a warm bed are generally not turned down.
Soon enough, they figure out out moods, what makes us happy, what makes us sad. Dogs will adjust accordingly, thus we tell ourselves that they are crazy about us. It’s a win, win relationship with all the responsibilities as well. Food, shelter, vets visits, illnesses, exercise, no sleeping in, bathroom breaks, fur shedding, etc. But, if the payoff is worth it, then enjoy to the fullest.
Watch this heartwarming moment when this little stray dog shows affection to his rescuer.
As reported, the footage was filmed on July 13, 2018 in the USA. Such love and affection shown to the lady who saved him off the streets. Who knows how long he went without food or water, chained up, unsheltered in the hot sun. Just look at the pups reaction to the human kindness. Hard to resist.
