This Pup Needs a Superhero Cape.
This heartwarming story is about a rescue reported by T&T media in 2019. Hazel, a three-year-old Yorkie, Chihuahua mix went out on a bathroom break. It was raining out, so Monica Burks, Hazel’s owner, figured it wouldn’t be long before she was at the door to come in.
But, not hearing her immediately at the door, Burks, from Abilene, Texas, went out to look for Hazel. She heard a crying noise coming from under, what appeared to be her shed. It was a tiny kitten.
Hazel, in the rain, coaxed this kitten along until they made their way back to the door step of Burks home. Hazel gently helped the kitten into the home.
Monica decided to keep the kitten, naming it Sheba. She gave it to her brother Michael, as it was reported.
As reported by Happily News, Burks was reported as saying: “That’s love, pure love—I saw the motherly instinct come out in her,” and of the kitten, she said: “Sheba is a feisty loving little thing, she was no bigger than my hand when Hazel found her.”
Now I would say Hazel deserved her own Super Dog cape, for the rescue.
Rex Chapman shared the video from Fred Schultz and said: “This good girl found and brought home an abandoned kitten. Not all heroes wear capes. Sometimes they wear collars…”
